Dear Mr. Adams:
\J
Thank you for your letter of May 8 expressing an interest in
furthur information on our Computer Controlled Robots. I have
enclosed some photos and brief descriptions of our two products - the
model Stanford Arm, and the model M.I.T. Arm, named after the
Universities at which they were originally designed. Both of these
systems are general purpose multi-degree of freedom manipulators with
broad applications. I have also included a report
issued by the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. This
paper details one experimental task using the prototype version of
our current model Stanford manipulator.
At the present time, we are delivering manipulators to
Universities, government organizations, and industrial customers
for research and prototype manufacturing and assembly applications.
As we have not yet advertised the product, all orders to date have
been through word of mouth, or as a result of published reports and
papers.
Vicarm has delivered a number of basic manipulators to
customers who already have their own computer. At the present time
we are developing our own complete manipulator system consisting of
manipulator, computer interface, computer, and an assortment of
software routines.
To date Vicarm has been funded entirely from within its
organization. Our anticipated sales for this year are $300,000. We
will be two years old on May 31.
Please contact me should you have a furthur interest in
either our organization or our products. \.
